RADICAL GRANDMA COLLECTIVE

NA NONG BONG, THAILAND — These Thai grandmas have been protesting a gold mine in their village for over a decade. The mine has leaked cyanide & other dangerous chemicals into local streams, poisoning their food & water supply. The mining company has pushed back against the vocal grandmas, suing them for slander. Despite all of this, The Radical Grandma Collective continues to fight – they are now walking 300 miles from Na Nong Bong to Bangkok to protest a new bill that would further deregulate mining laws throughout Thailand.

These are not your average scarves, and the weavers are not your average grandmas. The Radical Grandma Collective sells hand-made, high quality, stylish scarves made in Na Nong Bong, a small mountain village in northeast Thailand. When you buy one of these scarves, you're not just getting another accessory, you are supporting strong, gutsy, and smart women.
